Scientific activity
As a NAAS coordination center, the institute conducts research in genetics, breeding and seed production of agricultural crops.
Research covers breeding of new varieties and hybrids, molecular genetics and genomic selection, seed production, plant-resistance studies and phytopathology. The institute sustains six scientific schools and trains young scientists.
